Overview
Nordpay gives European mid-market exporters cross-border payment rails with transparent FX, built for companies too large for consumer tools and too small for investment-bank treasury desks.
Challenge
European traction, Asian ambition, no Asian presence. APAC expansion decisions were being made from Zagreb with no regulatory footprint, no local partnerships, and no understanding of corridor-by-corridor economics.
Strategy
Singapore first, everything else second. We designed a hub strategy: MAS licensing pathway, a Singapore entity as the APAC anchor, and bank partnerships that provided both rails and credibility for the corridors that followed.
Execution
We ran the market-entry programme end to end: entity setup guidance, licensing advisory coordination, partnership pipeline, and the first APAC hires sourced through the operator network.
Results
- Eleven live APAC corridors within two years
- Two bank partnerships signed, unlocking institutional volume
- APAC now contributes a third of total processing volume
Lessons
A Singapore base changed how every counterparty in the region read the company. The licensing investment repaid itself in shortened partnership cycles alone.
